I've been saying I'll write more about owning a small business, the real life deal, and what I've learned. There's a lot of great resources out there doing this already, and I keep wanting to contribute to that.
Ira Glass says it perfectly in this video. When you start, you're starting because you've got talent, ambition, determination. In today's day and age, we forget one thing. It takes time. We have to make mistakes, and we have to learn from them. We have to explore, and try and try again. Changes are, if you've decided to do your own thing, you're probably pretty passionate about what you're doing, so keep going! That special thing in your work, is you! Finding it takes a lot of refining, and a lot of time, so don't stop. Keep doing work, set goals, set deadlines. This video is spot on.
