See-Saws
Sometimes I feel like I'm on a relationship see-saw. I feel like I keep offering, and giving, and I often feel disappointed. It's emotional, stressful, and definitely not healthy. I read Jess Lively's post this week, and it was like a lightbulb! Jess stressed enjoying people at their comfort level. We can't force a deeper connection with them, but we can find their comfort level, and enjoy a relationship there. Seems like a pretty basic concept, but really sat heavily with me. Reading her post also reminded me to keep giving to those relationships that make me feel happy, rewarded, and loved (oh hey, I love you guys).Jess also talked about Reciprocity, and I loved it.
