Hot Dogs!

 If you're at all familiar with our work at Sugar & Type, you know that we're nerds about animals. We've got llamas. We've got otters. We've got reindeer and pooping dogs. And oh, so many more to come.

In the spirit of our animal-lovingness, we want to share this nifty little infographic, created for Help On Four Legs by Alex (Sugar & Type's Executive Copy Cruncher). Amazing right?!

It's summer (or at least it's supposed to be), and with summer comes heat (or at least it's supposed to come), and with heat come "quick errands" with your dog that make those enthusiastic hops into the car some unfortunate dogs' last hops. Cars get hot, people. Real hot. There are studies that have shown upwards of 20° differences between the temperatures outside a car and inside, and that's with windows open.

Do you know what happens to creatures whose only method to cool off is to breathe heavily when they're left in vehicles where all the air is a million degrees? They die, and they do it fast. Often, in as little as 30 minutes.

Clearly, the lesson here is that you should never leave your dog in a car on an even remotely warm day; I mean if it's warm enough that you can't see your breath (better to err on the side of caution, right?), leave your furbaby home.

"But I love Bruno far too much to leave him home!"

Then love Bruno enough to leave him home. And tell your friends to do the same.

Let's say it together: I will not leave my dog in the car. Not for half an hour. Not for five minutes. ("Five minutes" turns into half an hour more often than we realize.)
